Cold air lingers as I try not to remember,

Only pushing you away from what we then were. 

Listen to me carefully, I had to walk away for me,

Though I wish I hadn’t done it so horribly.

On those last few days, when I spoke to you,

Nothing made me regret more then what I put you through.

Because I did it in a way that was beyond wrong.

Like a bird with no vocals trying to sing a song.

Over text on our final days you were hurt the most,

On everyday that followed, I was just your ghost.

My heart could never give a worthy-enough apology.
